Talent Award: The start of a successful Die Casting Career

Every industry needs young talent. This also applies to die casting. For the key player in the automotive industry, innovation and sustainability are crucial. Now is the time to catapult young talent into the spotlight! The EUROGUSS Talent Award opens the door for graduates who want to take the path to the die casting industry. The application deadline is October 31.

The EUROGUSS Talent Award recognizes bachelor's and master's theses that relate to an innovation, improvement or new application in die casting and its entire value chain. To participate, it is sufficient to submit the abstract of the work. The work should add value to the die casting industry or its value chain. It will be evaluated and screened by a high-caliber international jury consisting of representatives from industry and research.
"The Talent Award is a prize for students from all over the world who are interested in working in die casting and related fields. It is also interesting for the industry as a platform to showcase their expertise and, of course, to attract talent," says jury chairman Franz-Josef Wöstmann, CEO of Cast Coil GmbH, explaining his view of the award.
"The Talent Award is a great way to get inspired for your career path. We need young and inspired talents who, as future leaders, will take the foundry industry to the next level," says jury member Hermann Roos, Structural Process Manager at Swiss plant manufacturer Bühler, explaining the reasons why participation is worthwhile and why his company is one of the competition's sponsors.
Award ceremony within the framework of the trade show
The award ceremony will take place during EUROGUSS 2024 from January 16-18 next year in Nuremberg. The winners will have the opportunity to present their work at the EUROGUSS exhibition forum. A point highlighted by jury member Frank Gensty, CTO at Georg Fischer Casting Solutions: "I am very much looking forward to the upcoming talent competition, because it is really exciting to see young talents presenting the work they are passionate about. Innovation is part of our DNA at GF. So it is a logical consequence that we are one of the sponsors of the Talent Award."
MAGMA adds: "The fascination for casting drives the people at MAGMA. At the heart of this are passionate experts in materials and processes. Thus, the promotion of young talent is of crucial importance not only for us, but for the entire industry."
