Fixing casting and surface defects

Diamant Metallplastic has further improved its two-component reaction resin system "Ultrametal" for cold welding. It is designed to make it even easier to fix casting and surface defects on metals with all the advantages of cold chemical welding.
The two-component reaction resin system Ultrametal can be used to repair metal parts made of aluminum, bronze, steel and iron.
For each of these metals, the German specialist for coating and polymer systems Diamant Metallplastic offers a suitable two-component reaction resin system with metal finish in their product range. The system is available as a pasty or liquid application variant.
Up to now, a suitable hardener for each metal character had to be used when Ultrametal was applied. A total of 16 different components were available for the four types of metals and in both pasty and liquid variants: Eight resins and eight hardeners — each with different mixing ratios.
One Hardener for All Types of Metals
According to the company, it has now succeeded in developing a universal hardener for repair works on aluminum, bronze, steel and iron. This reduces the product range to now six components. At the same time, the previously independent mixing ratio could be standardized. Both are important steps towards even greater process reliability and work optimization.

With the new universal hardener, the coating is to be mechanically resistant after 24 hours, even at an ambient temperature of 10 °C. A second hardener developed for the product range is to enable reliable cold welding even at temperatures down to -5 °C. It can also be used as a rapid hardener at normal temperature.
