Launching Moulding Expo 2023: To kick off the planning for next year’s trade fair, the Moulding Expo team invited participants to the MEX Meeting Point in Stuttgart on 3 May 2022. The industry event was a meeting point for tool, pattern and mould making companies, their technology suppliers and everyone interested in the Moulding Expo. The day’s programme was packed with fun activities and the latest information about Moulding Expo 2023. Lisa Reehten of Bosch Climate Solutions gave a keynote address on sustainability in tool, pattern and mould making. This topic was also discussed at the roundtable featuring representatives from Moulding Expo partner associations later in the day. The event ended with networking opportunities for all participants.

“The Moulding Expo is more than just a trade fair. The importance of networking is at its heart, and it makes this easy. After the last two years, we needed more than anything to bring together the global tool making industry,” says Bob Williamson, President of the International Special Tooling and Machining Association (ISTMA World). “We plan to create an ISTMA lounge at the next Moulding Expo, and we want to project the image of a global industry that, as a whole, offers the key means of developing sustainable production.”

The countdown to next year’s Moulding Expo has begun. From 13 to 16 June 2023, leading industry companies, technology partners, suppliers and plenty of trade visitors will come together at the tool, pattern and mould making trade fair at Messe Stuttgart. One of the highlights for the coming year is the Road of Tooling Innovation. As part of the special show, well-known drivers of innovation from the industry will present the tool and production concepts of the future and demonstrate them on-site. With its position at the centre of the market, its proximity to the airport and good transport links to motorway and suburban trains and tramways, Messe Stuttgart is the ideal meeting point for industry players from the local region, Germany and all over Europe.

Industry impressions of Moulding Expo 2023

Stefan Hofmann, Managing Director, Siegfried Hofmann GmbH: “Moulding Expo has established itself as a leading exhibition for tool and mould making. As a gathering of top European companies, the Moulding Expo is an important indicator of industry trends and innovations for us. As well as connecting with many friends at Messe Stuttgart, there is always something new to discover. This is what makes the trade fair great. The Road of Tooling Innovation is a great idea and demonstrates that the Moulding Expo is always looking to develop new and creative formats. It quickly became clear to us that we wanted to be part of this. I think that the Road of Tooling Innovation will be a melting pot for the innovative power of the industry, and will certainly be an exciting new feature of Moulding Expo 2023.”

Frieder Gänzle, President, F. Zimmermann GmbH: “MEX has established itself as the marketplace for tool, pattern and mould making, allowing us to focus on maintaining personal contact with our customers. For products that require detailed technological explanations, such as our portal milling machine, it is particularly helpful to be able to have face-to-face discussions with users. We want customers to experience our products and the Zimmermann brand. Working closely with Messe Stuttgart and the Moulding Expo team has helped us to achieve this. We really appreciate the close collaboration and good communication before, during and after the trade fair. Smooth organisation helps us to focus on the essentials: The right milling solution for our customers. You couldn’t wish for more from a trade fair. We are looking forward to the next Moulding Expo!”
