The song of metal: Millennia of Metallurgy in Slovenia

The song of metal exhibition is an overview of the metallurgical heritage on Slovenian territory from the time of the Ljubljana Marshes, to high-tech products from Slovenian companies that are conquering space.

Metallurgy has always been extremely important in the area, and in some periods even the most important craft activity.

Today, the metalworking industry employs ten percent of the Slovenian workforce, with more than three thousand companies operating in the industry. It is also key to our economy because it is based on the solid foundations of many thousands of years of metalworking history.

The exhibition is the result of close cooperation between museums of the National Museum of Slovenia and metallurgists at the University of Ljubljana.
