Optimism counts twice I believe, that this year is for all of us full of experiences and challenges, even distress. Both in business and private life. But I am also convinced, that next year will be better for most of us. Virus pandemic paralysed almost all the world. Borders, even on local scale were closed, economy was slowed down or even stopped. It seems that in this period only nature took a break and (slowly) starts to recovery. There is less pollution. Oh boy, this learning curve In most cases a person encounters the term learning curve for the first time in high school. But this is a life companion and it is up to us, what shape will take. A learning curve with the quantity of learning on the horizontal axis and learning effect on the vertical axis, can be easily translated in our day to day work or personal life. Is our brain on autopilot? I am frequently observing the world around me, younger people, older people and my generation. I just freeze at the thought, how we percept the world around us and always looking in all kind of displays. Editorial IRT3000 105.pdf

Back in year 2009?? Do you still remember how you made business in 2009? Let me remind you that this was the year after the financial - economic crisis and probably the closest thing that awaits us in the next months. The European Union published the economic forecast for the Euro zone for summer 2020. The key question is, how fast will the European economy recover? Of course, we all want to know what awaits us. If we look at the opinion of people, who knows the economy better than the majority, Europe is facing a deep recession with slow and uncertain recovery, which will not be the same for

Mixed This is the word that describes current feelings and prospects in manufacturing companies. In the first half of this year, optimism in industry has decreased by a third at least. Uncertainty in people’s minds and consequently in the world economy already shows its first negative effects. Fear can be good and healthy, but also harmful, since it keep us in a cramp and prevents us to reach our goals or exercise our full potential. Editorial IRT3000 102.pdf.pdf

New normal, part two It seems that the phrase new normal is coming back. I admit, that I almost forgot about it, since has been a dozen years since I heard it for the first time. Journalists, economists, bankers, politicians and others start to use it between 2007 and 2008 in the tine of the financial crisis then, which was followed by the global recession. Then came a bull’s trend on the stock markets, indexes grow, as well as profits in companies and we all practically forgot the crisis. Now it back and with it the term new normal. What actually does this means? Editorial IRT3000 101.pdf

Business world on its knees When I wrote about coronavirus last month, I never imagined that the world would be taken hostage. Not only did the healthcare system kneel before it, the entire world economy knelt and with it the entire planet. Editorial IRT3000 100.pdf

Are robots coming to take our jobs? People from all walks of life often ask me where our world is heading to. There is no straightforward or single answer to the question. I am far from being a visionary or far-sighted, and I am certainly no oracle, so I can only anticipate, like a layman but using logic, what awaits around the corner in the years to come. Not only in the industrial sector, but in a wider sense. The industry often offers a good picture of what lies ahead in other areas. There is little room for error in the industry, almost none, and things either work or you are out of business

It is coronavirus a good business? The answer is yes and no. If you ask the Chinese, it is not just a health, but also an economic disaster. But even those, who believe that will earn more on the account of problems in China, didn’t think on the long term. Effects of pandemics are always negative for everyone. Editorial IRT3000 98.pdf

Industry supports the World
Silence in production floor is never a good sign. Although the first week of the year is relatively quiet, this doesn't stand for industry. Machine tools in industry must work efficiently and be busy as much as possible. Otherwise there is a crisis. Literally. Not only for a single craftsman shop or company, but for the whole nation.
