Festo introduces a world premiere to the Hannover Messe trade fair 2017

24.03.2017

We cordially invite you to our Online Press Conference on Monday 27th March 2017.

The topics in summary:

Digitalisation as a key enabler for creating value for our customers

First of all, digitalisation is transforming parts of our business model. Our direct sales are now being increasingly supplemented by a Digital Customer Interface. This allows our customers to configure, simulate, purchase and operate our products even better, independently of time and location. As a result, our customers will be able to design their machinery and put it into operation even more rapidly. Secondly, we will connect our products to the Internet in the course of digitalisation. This will allow better networking of the products and is the enabler for new business models. The best example of this is the world premiere of the Festo Motion Terminal. Thirdly, the availability of our product data on the Internet gives rise to new business models: it will be possible to monitor operating conditions at all times. The availability of machinery will increase thanks to the improved opportunities for analysis.
Speaker: Gerhard Borho, Board Member Finance/Information Management and Technology

Festo Motion Terminal – the future of pneumatics

At the Online Press Conference, Festo will be exclusively introducing a revolutionary product to you that is celebrating its world premiere at the Hannover Messe. After the invention of the valve manifold, a further breakthrough innovation in pneumatics is now awaiting you in the form of the Festo Motion Terminal.
Speaker: Dr. Julia Duwe, Head of Future Motion Solutions Management

Innovations from the Bionic Learning Network in 2017

This year too, the Bionic Learning Network of Festo is providing fresh impulses for the production of the future at the Hannover Messe. The projects from the Bionic Learning Network serve as development platforms that bring together highly diverse technologies and components. For this year’s visionary Future Concepts projects, the Bionic Learning Network team has turned its attention to the field of robotics. At the focus here are bionically inspired robot concepts that will be able to work hand in hand with humans in future.

Speaker: Dr. Elias Knubben, Head of Corporate Bionic Projects

Transporting and manoeuvring in suspension with superconductivity

Superconductor technology enables contactless, low-energy and efficient manoeuvring and transport. At the Hannover Messe 2017, Festo is showcasing three exciting new concepts for industrial application: with SupraDrive, suspended transport sledges can be moved highly dynamically; with SupraShaker, a suspended vibration system with tilting option has been realised; and SupraLoop demonstrates how superconductor technology can be easily combined with other transport systems. Automation can thus make inroads into areas of application that until now have been regarded as not or only hardly accessible to automation.

Speaker: Georg Berner, Head of Strategic Corporate Development, Group Holding Festo
